Do Ask, Do Tell everyone you know that
D.A.P.s Mid-Summer Dance Party V
will be better than ever on Friday, July 13!
(PALM SPRINGS, CA May 2, 2012)
Luckily for us, the Commune at Ace Hotel & Swim Club is air-conditioned because Desert AIDS Project will be cranking up the summer heat for the fifth consecutive year when its Do Ask, Do Tell Mid-Summer Dance Party V honors our military men and women on Friday, July 13.
No need to fear this Friday the 13th event because co-chairs Kenny Jervis, Michael Crisp and the Ace's very own beloved Dennis Hernandez have a non-stop evening of fun planned with entertainment, dancing, cocktails from six hosted bars, tray-passed hors doeuvres (fancy!) and more. The dance party will feature DJ Michael Antonio, dancers from SHARE Nightclub in Las Vegas and a performance by dance music icon Kristine W whose long list of #1 hits include Feel What You Want, One More Try, Land of the Living, Save My Soul and many more.
More than 700 party-goers are expected this year, so more parking and beverage stations have been added. But the general admission ticket price remains unchanged at $45. For those whod like a quieter spot - but still near the action -- to relax over organic cocktails and a special dessert bar, $75 will afford them access to the VIP Suite, which just happens to be three times larger this year. VIP tickets will be limited to 75 and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Every admission ticket (VIP or not) includes an annual membership to Red Band, a donor program that purchases at least three HIV test kits for every membership, used at DAPs 20+ sites offering free and confidential HIV testing. Wearing the Red Band shows the world that youve pledged to be a part of the solution - right here in our community - to a worldwide problem, says David Brinkman, CEO of DAP. The Coachella Valley has offered great support to us over our almost 28 years of service, so were glad we can offer a little fun in return.
In addition to founding members, Kimberly Nichols and Scott Hines, the 2012 Host Committee includes Chad Ballard, Bella da Ball (the Ace's Trivia Night hostess!), Kathleen Bennett, Ryan Cummings, Ben Fenn, Manny de la Rosa, Trini Garza, Albert Gonzales, Lonny Gorrill, Kerry Hendrix, Mark Jones, Jeff Jones, Nick Joseph, Kandy Lee, Mac Meehan, Jerry Meza, John Moore, Alexis Ortega, Paul Parkinson, Antonio Pealoza-Nieto (Trio), David Pennington, Greg Pettis, Greg Polzin, Willie Rhine, Denise Rodriguez-Bowman, Brian Vatcher and Larry & Laurie Weitz. Sponsors include Ace Hotel & Swim Club, Kenny Jervis & Michael Crisp, SIR Entertainment, The Bottom Line, Brighthaus Marketing, Classic Party Rentals and LIVE Magazine.
