Palm Springs, CA –KMIR-TV/NBC, KPSE-TV/MyNetworkTV will air a KMIR NEWS SPECIAL: “STANDING UNITED”. The special will air LIVE Friday June 17th at 6:30PM on KMIR/NBC with encore presentations at 9:00PM and 10:00PM on KPSE/MyNetworkTV.
The special will be hosted by KMIR’s Gino Lamont. Guests include Palm Springs Mayor Rob Moon; CEO of The LGBT Community Center of the Desert, Mike Thompson; Imam Reymundo Nour with the Islamic Society of Palm Springs, as well as other local faith and community leaders -- and former CBS Correspondent, Hank Plante. The special will originate from East Arenas Road in Downtown Palm Springs.
Gene Steinberg, VP / General Manager of KMIR stated that “The tragedy in Orlando strikes a chord in all valley residents and we felt it was important to spend some time addressing the significant issues related to the shooting.”
David Reese, News Director of KMIR NEWS added, “We heard the community loud and clear at Sunday night’s vigil in Palm Springs. They want to come together after this tragedy and KMIR News is committed to doing our part to make that happen.”
