I'M HERE EVERY FEW MONTHS
One of my favorite things to do when visiting Palm Springs is The Living Desert. Besides seeing the cactus/plants and animals indigenous to the desert, you will see many animals from other parts of the world. I enjoy walking with a map much more that the guided tram tour. Go early and keep bottled water with you on those hot days. For a treat, visit here the end of November through December for the Wild Lights. Oh, a tip, you can get discounted or free admissions if you go the membership route. Or this tidbit, get in free - http://museums.bankofamerica.com/
Fun Place
If your into botany and the like this is the place to go..great place to spend the day & besides that its very educational..make sure you bring some water to stay hydrated..yes i would go-back for return visit..always something to learn..
Fascinating Zoo and Botanical Garden
If you are as fascinated by the flora and fauna of the desert as I am, then take a few hours out of your morning and visit The Living Desert. I recommend morning because of temperatures. Also, I suggest bringing some bottled water along to keep hydrated during warmer months. Of course, the park also sells beverages at the various stands and cafes. There is an extensive collection of animals and plants, and this is a good place to learn about desert life. I particularly enjoyed the giraffes, but there are a lot of other animals on the grounds as well.

Wear some good walking shoes and enjoy the desert as you have never seen it before. You will learn so much! Be SURE and take your camera!
