Horrible experience, strange/rude man
The man who answered the phone was a complete jerk. He screamed "What?!" into the phone. I said "Is this The View"? He says "Yes, what do you want?" I said I'm calling about booking a room. Then he acted like I was an idiot for asking because it was Coachella weekend. I explained I was a potential customer and he didn't need to be rude. Then he said "If you knew who I was, you wouldn't say that."
Then he hung up on me!
This guy is a total looney toon. I called back to ask for the owner and he hung up on me again.
I would never stay there now. I can't believe the rudeness. Unbelievable!
BEST NEW SPOT IN PALM SPRINGS
I stayed at The View during the Coachella Music and Arts festival. When most resorts double or triple their costs The View not only kept their standard pricing but also honored a discount I found online. Upon arrival we were shown our room which was clean and update with modern touches such as a flat screen TV and free wifi. Our room also came with kitchen area which I found useful, since I didn't get back from the festival until after 2am most nights. The owners go out of there way to provide the best possible service from calling a cab to offering restaurants suggestions. I like that they asked guests if the sheets need to be changed, I think every little bit helps when a business makes an effort to go green. There was a modest breakfast offered that most of the guests took advantage of, I opted to check out various restaurants (Cheeky's, Norma's, and Rick's) Palm Springs had to offer. I look forward to returning to the View and spending more time relaxing at the property.
lots of stars in the sky floating by...
I stopped in when the new facade caught my eye. Well done, inside and out. Okay location in general, great set-back of about 1000 ft I'm guessing from Indian Canyon so no traffic noise at night and lots of stars.Bring your waterprook headset so you can floatin a pool and watch the stars travel past you. It is a terrific blend of mod+mid-century+motel Good luck fellas, you are off to a terrific start.
New Place in Town
I've had the pleasure of staying here twice over the Summer and enjoyed it. It's a fairly new gay resort, and some things are still being updated. The rooms range from a standard queen room to a full sized suite with full kitchen and separate bedroom. All rooms have Refigerators, microwaves, flat screen TV's and hardwood floors. Oh, and most rooms have a private patio. They are now serving a few items for a lite breakfast before starting your day. I stayed when it was still new, so there wasn't a lot of guests yet. If you go, tell the Manager, Gene, that Silver sent you.
