There's something for everyone in this desert oasis. Located about 2 hours from Los Angeles and San Diego, Palm Springs has long been a popular getaway for Southern Californians and its desert hiking, golfing, and friendly laid back atmosphere has attracted visitors from all over the world. There is a very large gay population here and some even jokingly refer to it as a "gay retirement village". But you'll see all types here. The bar scene here isn't much to write home about - visitors are usually more focused on the daytime sun and fun. There are many gay resorts here and whether you are looking for a frisky clothing optional place or something a little more sedate, its all here.
